The Loveland City Council approved a contract to demolish and remediate the structure at 128 North Riverside Drive.
City Manager Dave Kennedy recommended awarding the purchase agreement to Citywide Remediation and Removal for $35,770. The scope described by staff includes removal of the structure, driveways, sidewalks, pool and associated hard surfaces, and remediation work to address asbestos and other hazards. "We think is a pretty good price considering all that's involved," Kennedy said.
Councilmembers acknowledged the emotional difficulty for the property’s owners and thanked the family for cooperating with the process. Staff noted the site will also be used for training by the fire and police departments once the family completes vacancy and cleanup.
Resolution 53 authorizing the agreement was adopted by roll call vote, 7–0.
