Sally of HC Engineering described the proposals: a $39,961 change order to construct a five-foot-wide, ADA-compliant sidewalk with curb ramps on the north side of Harrison Street (Main Street to Green Alley) and a $17,857 change order to pave a stretch of High Street to help control stormwater runoff. "This change order is for $39,961," Sally said, and staff confirmed the sidewalk will be built to ADA and NDOT standards.
Staff told the board the costs will be paid by the redevelopment commission and would not increase the city's appropriation; the board moved and approved both change orders pending the commission's payment. The motion passed by unanimous voice vote.
The board asked staff to coordinate with the redevelopment commission for payment and to oversee construction to meet ADA and NDOT specifications. No construction start date was provided at the meeting.
