Pleasantville will not sponsor Music & Street Festival in 2026 after risk review

Council members discussed the future of the Pleasantville Music & Street Festival after a risk review presented concerns about liability, insurance, staffing and financial exposure.
Mia West, who holds the title Miss Pleasantville Music & Street Festival Queen, told council the festival "has put the Village of Pleasantville 'on the map'" and asked them to "keep the festival." Council and the village solicitor noted that many comparable events are organized by nonprofit groups rather than municipalities, and members discussed options including transferring operations to a nonprofit, scaling back the event, eliminating alcohol sales or taking a one-year hiatus to reorganize.
Following discussion, council indicated the Village will not sponsor or operate the Music & Street Festival in 2026. Mayor Michelle Dumolt said she would immediately begin discussions with local nonprofit organizations about possible future festival organization. No formal action was taken and no transfer of festival funds or assets was approved at the meeting.
