Comfrey officials report state PFAS tests on water plant are negative

Because sampling returned negative results, the city will not need to install or run PFAS‑specific treatment at the wastewater plant, a development the council noted could produce significant cost savings for the city budget.
The statement was presented as a department report during routine business; no council vote on mitigation or remediation was required because the tests did not indicate contamination in the sampled rounds. Council members did not request further action during the meeting.
