Cokato delays street relining as costs rise; council approves partial payment for holding pond

Cokato city staff told the City Council on Oct. 14 that rising costs have pushed planned street relining work out roughly a year.
City Administrator Brad Potter and contractor representative DeGrote reviewed a list of streets needing repair and said relining costs have increased; staff described the earliest feasible start as about a year away. Potter also presented a cost spreadsheet comparing proposals from Bolton & Menk and Silversmith for a city GIS system; no procurement decision was recorded at the meeting.
On capital work, staff recommended and the council approved partial payment #3 for the Southwest Holding Pond project; staff reported the pond is about 95% complete. Council Member Wilson moved to approve the payment, Council Member Hermansen seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.
No additional funding or contract amendments were recorded in the minutes; further scheduling and procurement actions will be handled by public-works staff.
