Christian County commissioners approved two contracts with Johnson Controls (JCI) for security and fire-protection services at the new 479 North Government Plaza Circle.
County staff said the first contract covers monitoring and electronic locks for the building at $850 per year on a three-year term. The second contract, awarded under the Missouri state contract CC2328200010, covers fire-alarm inspections, sprinkler inspections, backflow inspections, fire-extinguisher servicing and emergency-light maintenance at a total of $1,582.58 per year for three years.
Staff provided a line-item breakdown for the fire-and-safety services: fire-alarm inspections ($468.16), sprinkler inspections ($231.67), backflow inspections ($139.00), fire-extinguisher services ($99.75) and emergency-light maintenance ($644.00) per year. Commissioners discussed contract details and noted the contracts allow JCI to coordinate directly with county personnel and the fire department for inspections and responses; staff said Commissioner Morris will sign required monitoring forms.
A motion to award both contracts was made, seconded and approved by the commission.
