Chisholm board confirms demolition schedule, details bus garage funding and site plans

Presenter Jordan said a change order has been issued to demolish the on-site carpentry shop and that asbestos testing has been completed. Contractors were cleared to start strategic, phased demolition; an initial demolition day was described as scheduled for Monday (phased operations rather than a single demolition event).
Jordan said the district contracted to have asphalt milled and reclaimed for site fill and estimated milling costs discussed at about $455–$500. He emphasized that the district will prioritize getting necessary parking areas finished for school reopening before finishing green-space reclamation.
The board was also told that a window supplier failed to place orders in a timely fashion. "Windows should be shipping the last week of July and install starting the first week of August," the presenter said, adding that installation and finishing may push work into the school year. The board characterized the scheduling problem as avoidable and said the contractor’s performance will be addressed.
On the bus garage, the district secured just over $3 million for a new facility. The plan is a joint project with the city of Chisholm that will include a public-works building, joint wash bay, bus garage bays, mechanics space and a joint fuel station. The board was told legal and lease paperwork will be prepared and that the city is expected to release bid documents around July 13 with awards later in July/August.
The board also discussed operational details: the contractor is responsible for removing the flag pole and staff emphasized the flag must be lowered, folded and stored appropriately during demolition. Residents were warned of limited summer parking and restricted access to areas inside the construction footprint.
Board members asked staff to confirm demolition milestone timing for public announcement and to continue tracking contractor schedules and change orders as work proceeds.
