Bernalillo council adopts capital-project budget changes including $2.176M Water Trust Board award

The Bernalillo Governing Body unanimously adopted Resolution 09/26/2022 on Sept. 26 to amend capital-project budgets, creating a $200,000 Economic Development Department (EDD) grant for the town museum and establishing revenue and expenditure accounts for a $2,176,000 Water Trust Board (WTB) award.
Terri Gray presented the resolution and summarized the changes, which add $200,000 to Fund 270 for the museum and create the Water Trust Board line in Fund 510. The resolution also records a $263,000 transfer from ARPA to the WTB project. Council voted by roll call; all members present voted yea.
The resolution’s net listed increases are $2,113,000 in revenues and $2,376,000 in expenditures across the affected funds as presented to the council. Gray told the council the adjustment followed a careful review of the budget submitted to the state Department of Finance & Administration.
Mayor Torres and council members did not raise objections during the motion; the resolution passed with the votes recorded on the meeting minutes. The council packet lists the fund and account line items included in the resolution. The town’s finance staff will implement the budget-line changes and record the WTB award and EDD grant in the town’s accounting system.
The council also received the month-to-date financial report through August 2022, which shows general fund year-to-date revenues and expenditures and enterprise fund summaries; Terri Gray presented that report as part of the meeting’s financial section.
