Bridgewater resident urges council to ban retail sales of dogs, citing puppy‑mill concerns

Council President Vincent Geiger acknowledged receipt of the comment and noted the matter had been referred to the township shelter committee; Councilman Michael Kirsch said he would read the material and confer with the committee. No ordinance or vote occurred at the June 24 meeting. The council invited the speaker to provide a fact sheet for members to review.
Next steps The shelter committee will review the materials and report back to the council; residents and advocacy groups were encouraged to supply supporting documents for committee consideration.
