Prospect council approves tax‑levy resolution, reviews wages and finance outlook

Earlier in the meeting Councilmember Larry Brown moved and Councilmember Phillip “P.J.” Reeb seconded payment of the village bills, which the council approved unanimously.
Assistant Clerk‑Treasurer Jenny Lauer provided councilmembers a copy of Ordinance #1457, which lists standardized wages by job description for village employees, in response to a request from Councilmember Doug Schultz. Lauer said she would prepare budget numbers ahead of the council's need to pass the 2027 village budget by December 2026.
Councilmember Ed Spurlock asked for an update on the sewer and garbage funds after rate increases approved in December 2025; Lauer said that by the end of 2026 both funds should show notable improvement and that she would share the financial details at that time.
