The minutes record that the town had been roughly $22,000 short of funding its own ambulance service for the current year, which informed discussion about whether to restore a town-run service in a future budget cycle.
AFC Andy Clark suggested that the town request a quarterly report from Delta on utilization and costs so the board can monitor service levels and spending. The board also noted that the fire department expects a second ambulance vehicle to be operational within a few weeks pending licensing and supplies.
Board members agreed to approve the Delta contract while directing staff to seek clearer operational and cost reporting from Delta and to review local-service options ahead of the next fiscal year. The motion to approve the contract passed with unanimous votes by Chair Jason Dow and Select Board members Eric Rolfson and David Hammond.
The board’s next steps are to request the quarterly report from Delta and to include ambulance-service planning in discussions before next July 1.
