Fiscal court approves roughly $10,000 in EMS project change orders at no cost to county

Christy Dodge of the Buffalo Trace Area Development District presented four recently arisen change orders for the county EMS building project and asked the court to approve them so work could continue. The four items were: a water service line adjustment ($3,485), a deleted bay-door credit ($4,855 credit), additional roof underlayment ($7,253), and an extension of drainage pipes ($3,718). With the credit applied, Christy said the net of the four change orders is roughly $10,000 and that the EMS board had approved them; the changes do not increase the county's cost.
The court approved the change orders on a motion by Debbie Mayfield, seconded by John Scott. Work was scheduled to be finished by July 31, and members emphasized keeping momentum to complete the project on time.
Christy noted the changes were discovered as construction proceeded (meter relocation, structural constraints for a bay door, incorrect roof underlayment found during removal, and drainage tie-in needs). The court recorded the roll-call vote approving change orders six through nine; the EMS board had already approved them the previous day.
