Duchesne County approves two Main Street matching grants and appoints workforce representative to advisory board

Commissioners unanimously approved a $10,000 matching grant for Vengeance Powersports and $5,000 for Higher Healing Energetics, and appointed Judi Collins as the workforce representative to the Economic Advisory Board.
Economic Development Director Kori Wilde presented two Main Street Matching Grant applications and recommended funding for both. Commissioners approved a $10,000 award to Vengeance Powersports, which Wilde said purchased its current location outright and completed more than 80% of the project work with local contractors (site work, asphalt, fencing, lighting, HVAC, a symmetric lift and signage). Commissioners also approved a $5,000 award to Higher Healing Energetics for equipment purchases including an infrared sauna, red light therapy equipment, shelving and other fixtures intended to support wellness services in a building that had been vacant.
Wilde also told the commission there was a vacancy on the Economic Advisory Board for a workforce representative and recommended Judi Collins; the commission appointed Collins by unanimous vote.
Both grant approvals and the appointment were passed by the commission in single motions with all three commissioners voting aye.
