Council discussed sidewalk connectivity related to new US‑23 plans and whether the zoning revisions and sidewalk decisions should be coordinated with planned pedestrian crossings at North Street. Allen said the village would pursue an option to add a sidewalk along North Street from the park to East Street and would pursue ODOT TAP grant funding assistance from CESO Engineering for roughly $3,000 to prepare the application.
Council scheduled a special meeting for Nov. 26 to vote on a related resolution. Allen and council members did not provide a final procurement timetable at the Nov. 18 meeting; implementation details and vendor selection were left to the administrator to return with proposals.
The decision advances a municipal code update and sets the village on a path for permit, zoning and sidewalk planning actions that could affect development for the next several years.
