The Wellesley Board of Health voted to approve the Jan. 8, 2026 meeting minutes and received routine departmental updates on vaccinations, summer camps and community resources on Jan. 22.
Dr. Marcia Testa Simonson, PhD, chair, moved to approve the Jan. 8 minutes; Dr. Shira Doron, MD, seconded and Dr. Simonson, Linda Oliver Grape, PA-C, MPH, and Dr. Doron voted yes. The motion passed.
Ann Marie McCauley, RN, Public Health Nursing Supervisor, said the Wellesley Health Department is being re-certified for the Vaccine for Children (VFC) Program and reported that influenza activity is declining slightly while COVID reports remain low. Joyce Saret, MSW, LICSW, Senior Community Social Worker, said staff will be trained in Question, Persuade, Respond (QPR), and reviewed the department's contract with Clearpath, an organization that addresses hoarding and clutter issues.
Lenny Izzo, Health Department Director, and Deadra Doku-Gardner, Administrator, reported that camp planning has begun; Doku-Gardner said Wellesley had 7,200 campers and 32 camps last year. Adam Di Persio, Senior Environmental Health Specialist, noted several new restaurants will be opening in town; no names or dates were specified.
The board set its next meeting for Feb. 26, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., and adjourned at 9:58 a.m.
