Denton trustees restrict treatment-plant access after anonymous complaint; trustee raises conduct concerns

Chair Joe Hobelman reported an anonymous complaint to NEDWEE concerning the sanitary sewer and public water treatment plant and said that henceforth only licensed operators or village maintenance employees may enter the treatment plant. The minutes state maintenance employees without a license may record readings but are not authorized to alter water quality, quantity, or processes.

Trustee Amanda Fangmeier reported citizen concerns about dangerous buildings in the village’s one-mile jurisdiction and instructed the clerk to contact the Health Department; Fangmeier said she will provide property addresses to the clerk. Later in the meeting Fangmeier read a statement expressing concerns about board conduct; the minutes record the statement but do not show a motion or further action on governance or conduct policies.

During public comment resident Gail Braunsroth announced the village holiday party scheduled for Dec. 13; resident Lona Andersen asked whether the village had received responses from South West Rural Fire or the Lancaster County Sheriff and requested traffic-study follow-up. Quinten Penner (Penner Sprinkler & Lawn) offered discounted snow removal and lawn services and suggested ballfield improvements. The minutes do not record formal responses to those public comments.
