The Village of Denton Board of Trustees voted March 2 to postpone consideration of proposed water and sewer rate increases until their April meeting to allow further review of a rate study.
Trustee Trent Wheatley moved to table agenda items 3(a) and 3(b), which cover the proposed Water Rate Increase Ordinance 26-1-1 and Sewer Rate Increase Ordinance 26-1-2. Trustee Doug Rosekrans seconded the motion, which the board carried without objection.
The measures were introduced for discussion but received no final action. Minutes record the items as “tabled” and show the board intends to revisit rates at the April meeting when additional study and information will be available.
No detailed rate figures or revised schedules were adopted at the March meeting. The board’s decision postpones any immediate change to customer bills while staff and trustees review the underlying rate-study analysis.
