In an ‘Other Business’ exchange, Ms. Creasy, Commissioner Tony Dean and Commissioner Lea Meadows discussed general positives and negatives if a data center were to locate in Smyth County. The conversation was informal and focused on potential economic benefits and community impacts; no formal recommendation or action was taken at the meeting.
Staff indicated more formal public notice and materials would be made available in advance of the June 25 hearing, and interested parties can review application materials at the Zoning Administrator’s office during business hours.
