City Manager Chris Conrad told the Highland City Council that EMS Chief Brian Wilson announced at a staff meeting that he will retire effective July 3. Conrad said this will be Wilson's second retirement and conveyed the council's best wishes.
During the public forum resident John Kapp praised the previous day's car show and the Schweizerfest, saying the events bring people to town. "The car shows really bring people into town, including the monthly one on the Square," Kapp said, adding that the Schweizerfest "was a good time" and complimenting Mayor Kevin Hemann's Memorial Day speech.
The council recorded the reports and no formal action was taken on the retirement or event remarks at the meeting.
