The Calaveras County Board of Supervisors on June 23 approved a one‑year contract (with two optional one‑year extensions) to retain Dr. Renee Ramirez as the county health officer for July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027.
Marcos Munoz, director of Health & Human Services, explained that the department posted a request for qualifications (RFQ) and received two applications; four reviewers scored submissions and rated Dr. Ramirez highest. The contract presented to the board is for an initial one‑year term with options to extend. No protests were filed in the RFQ protest window.
Dr. Ramirez thanked the board and offered brief remarks stressing the demands and responsibilities of the job. The board unanimously approved the contract and reappointment.
