Council approves site plan for Kesler's Lawn Services at Commerce Drive (Resolution 26‑07)

The Greenfield City Council on Feb. 17 approved Resolution 26‑07, granting final site‑plan approval for properties at 8495 and 8515 Commerce Drive that the city plans to sell to Kesler's Lawn Services.

Staff member Brad summarized the proposal as a roughly 6,000‑square‑foot structure with a shop area, office space (including a mezzanine), five front parking spaces plus a handicap stall and a gravel contractor yard. The application included a paved driveway from Commerce Drive to the building, perimeter screening fencing to conceal materials storage and a landscape plan that staff said provides six trees along the frontage.

Brad listed conditions of approval: after closing the buyer must complete a simple lot consolidation (administrative), the driveway paving and other stormwater best practices must be implemented given the gravel yard, final landscape details must meet city code and all fees and any site‑performance security must be submitted before building permits are issued. He also said the city will address any fire‑or building‑safety comments during the building‑permit review.

Applicant Jim Kesler introduced himself and answered council questions about parking, landscaping and operations. Councilors welcomed the business and said the site will activate the street.
