Town to begin formal bid process after family asks for return of Andrew Locy Rogers Cabin share

According to the report, the town acquired half a share of the cabin from Don Papa about 20 years ago. Kathryn Melzer, identified in the record as Papa’s daughter, emailed a request to staff asking that the town give its share back to the Papa family. Staff indicated the town cannot simply deed the share back and said it must follow a formal bid or disposition process; staff (Brian Richards) said he will begin that process and will bring any items that require council approval back to the council.
No formal action to transfer property was taken at the meeting; staff described next steps as initiating the legally required bid/disposition process and returning to council with any required approvals.
