Residents urge community events, propose Rodeo Park plan during public comment

During the call to the public at the April 6 meeting, three speakers addressed the council.
Stefani Carrol announced a Drug Take Back Day scheduled for April 24 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., organized by the Nexus Coalition and STPD with a collection point at Walmart. Chase Carlson, President of the Chamber of Commerce, thanked the Town for supporting the Chamber and allowing events to proceed despite COVID limitations. Jodi Flake presented a 10-year plan to finance and build facilities at the Snowflake Rodeo grounds and asked the council to consider the proposal and explore partnership possibilities.
The public comment period offered community members an opportunity to brief the council; no formal council action on the Rodeo Park proposal was recorded in the minutes, which reflect that items raised during public comment will be routed to staff or placed on future agendas as appropriate.
