Snowflake council approves 160-unit RV park and 450-unit storage facility

The Snowflake Town Council on Feb. 2 approved a special use permit to allow a 160-unit RV park and a 450-unit self-storage facility on parcel 202-05-037G, after the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended the permit.
Scott Allen presented the special use permit and noted the commission’s recommendation. Joseph Holland, speaking for the project team, said engineering work is complete and “funding is lined up,” and that drainage engineering must be finished before bidding. Councilmember Byron Lewis said “there is a real need for this in the area,” and councilmember Kerry Ballard asked when construction would start. The council approved the permit on a motion by Bob Flake, seconded by Greg Brimhall; the motion passed unanimously with Lynn Johnson, Cory Johnson and Allison Perkins absent.
Council members asked about utilities and site capacity. Scott Allen stated an impact study had been done and that water and sewer capacity is adequate. Holland said the project plans to use Doug Brimhall for engineering services and expects substantial earthmoving to achieve the proposed layout.
The decision authorizes the property to be used as described under the special use permit; no specific construction schedule was adopted at the meeting.
