Suffield WPCA approves Brookhill bond reduction, grants sewer capacity and reviews Stony Brook design and construction proposal

The Suffield Water Pollution Control Authority (WPCA) voted on June 9 to modify the bond for Brookhill Suffield LLC and approved sewer capacity for a separate property, while also receiving updates on the Stony Brook design and related cost estimates.
Jamie Kreller, the WPCA superintendent, presented a revised construction cost estimate for the Brookhill Suffield LLC project. After discussion on construction costs and contingencies, the commission agreed to reduce the bond amount and increase the contingency to 25 percent. John Murphy moved to set the Brookhill bond value at $284,366; Frank Bauchiero seconded the motion and members voted unanimously to approve it.
In a separate motion, Frank Bauchiero moved and John Murphy seconded approval of sewer capacity for 616 Thompsonville Road; that motion also passed unanimously. The minutes do not specify permit conditions or technical details associated with the capacity approval.
Under old business, Frances Cameron of Woodard & Curran reported that Stony Brook easement plans have been completed and are under legal review; property-owner notification letters are being prepared. The authority was presented with a separate work order for bidding services and assistance with a DEEP 2% loan application estimated at approximately $56,000.
Woodard & Curran also presented a draft construction administration proposal estimated at approximately $631,000 covering EPA grant administration, construction observation, and geotechnical services. The minutes record the proposal as presented; no vote on that proposal is recorded in the minutes.
Procedural approvals earlier in the meeting included unanimous approval of the May 12 regular and public hearing meeting minutes and the Treasurer's report. The meeting adjourned at 7:52 p.m.
