During its April 20 meeting the Humboldt Community School District Board documented several personnel resignations and approved multiple hires for summer programs and the 2026–2027 school year.
Resignations listed on the agenda included Heather Carver (HS paraeducator, effective March 31), Allison Hoag (MS paraeducator, effective May 12), Kylee Smith (MS/HS Ag instructor and FFA sponsor, effective at the end of the school year), Jenna McKinney (MS paraeducator, end of school year), Spencer Ross (head girls track coach), Ben Chavers (fall musical director, 2026–27 only), Stephanie Heinz (elementary interventionist, end of school year), Sara Bruening (elementary ELL teacher, end of school year), Emilee Moranville (Taft Elementary teacher, end of school year), Alexis Hill (8th grade volleyball), and Jaxon Heinz (varsity assistant boys basketball coach). Several resignations did not list exact effective dates beyond "end of school year."
The board tabled recommended coaching contract amendments and modifications for further consideration at the next meeting. At the same time the board approved a slate of summer and 2026–2027 staffing recommendations: Taft summer school teachers Shelby Weier, Rhonda Van Pelt, Shawna Bonnstetter, Amanda Altman and Rebecka Allen; Taft summer school paraprofessionals Cassie Cofer, Leah Myer and Shondel Beaman; Stevie Nuehring as high school attendance/activities administrative assistant for 2026–2027; Pam Stalpes for summer technology help; and a group of summer custodial hires including Evan Hatcher, Jen Larson, Cole Goodenow, Jason Hardman, Chris Pederson, Catalina Elizondo, Christina Lusson and Abby Armitage.
Board member Lane moved and Ropte seconded approval of the general business consent items that included these personnel recommendations; the motion carried unanimously. Where a resignation's effective date was not specified in the agenda, the board record lists it as "effective at end of school year" or "not specified."
