The Danvers Cultural Council voted Jan. 28 to approve a community survey and a promotional recruitment flyer aimed at recruiting new members and informing future grant decisions.
The council discussed that several member terms are set to expire and that it hopes to maintain a voting membership of five to nine members. Members reviewed the volunteer application process: interested candidates should complete the Town volunteer "Talent Pool Application" online and submit a letter of interest to the Town Manager. Current members seeking another term were told to submit a letter of interest if permitted under Mass Cultural Council rules.
After reviewing a draft survey intended to gauge community cultural needs, the council made and passed a motion to approve the survey as presented. The council recorded that council co-chair Phil Bolduc will email town representatives to request the survey be posted on the Town of Danvers website and promoted on the town’s social media channels.
Separately, the council reviewed and passed a motion to approve the Cultural Council promotional fact/recruitment flyer for public distribution.
The approvals were recorded without detailed roll-call vote tallies in the minutes. The council said it will use survey results to help guide future grant awards and outreach to prospective volunteers.
