The council approved a motion to temporarily close Parnell Street on Sept. 29 starting at noon and continuing until event cleanup — the council noted the closure would end before midnight the same day to accommodate a concert series. Amy, the EDA/Planning liaison, presented the request and the council approved it by voice vote.
Council tabled action on hail‑damage repair bids after the city attorney reported a bidder’s letter asserting an earlier award and after the League of Minnesota Cities indicated it would cover the lowest qualified bid; the council agreed to review materials and resume the matter at the next meeting.
A boiler estimate from Skogan Mechanical was not available and councilors voted to table the item to the next meeting. The council discussed Patterson Sand rent, noting September rent had not been received; staff will continue collection efforts and may involve the city attorney if nonpayment persists.
Councilors received a brief People Services fund report noting $6,000 had been budgeted for routine purchases and a $2,210 return to the fund the prior year was cited as evidence of prudent management. The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn.
