Waterford board approves reappointments, one appointment and $135,455.92 tax refund; amends budget minutes

At its Feb. 10 meeting the Waterford Board of Selectmen approved a slate of routine appointments and reappointments, accepted a resignation, approved a tax refund totaling $135,455.92 and adopted amended minutes from recent board and budget meetings.
The board moved a consent agenda item to the front of the meeting to accommodate an appointee and approved reappointments including John Jamroga to the Shellfish Commission and reappointments to the Harbor Management Commission for John Hughes and Joseph Booths. A resignation from an alternate (Avery) was noted and the board said it will seek a replacement.
The board voted to appoint Eric Beninui to the Recreation and Parks Commission to align term dates with the town ordinance; Brule said staff will arrange for Beninui to be sworn in. Selectmen also approved a tax refund of $135,455.92; the refund motion passed by voice vote.
Board members reviewed and amended several meeting minutes from January 20 and multiple February budget meetings. They corrected a roll-call timing discrepancy (4:01 vs. 4:02) in the minutes, accepted other amendments to reflect discussion and voted to accept the records. A proposed budget amendment to increase line 52420 by $2,800 failed after discussion and a voice vote.
Several procedural votes were conducted by voice; where roll-call timing or arrival times were inconsistent staff will update minutes to reflect the agreed language and provide final copies.
