Waterford board accepts resignations and reappoints members to town commissions

First Selectman Robert Brule opened the meeting and, after a procedural motion to move appointments to the top of the agenda, the board accepted the resignation of Richard Erricson Sr. from the Recreation and Parks Commission and the resignation of Avery Holzworth as an alternate on the Conservation Commission. The board moved to fill and realign commission terms to comply with local ordinance schedules.
The board amended and reappointed John Jamroga to the Waterford Shellfish Commission to serve the remainder of a term adjusted to Jan. 6, 2025–Jan. 6, 2029; the motion to amend and reappoint passed 3-0. The board reappointed John Hughes to the Harbor Management Commission for a term of Feb. 18, 2026–Feb. 17, 2029 and reappointed Joseph Buths to the Harbor Management Commission for the same term; both motions passed 3-0. The board also approved the appointment of Eric Benvenuti to the Recreation and Parks Commission and amended the term to Sept. 1, 2025–Aug. 31, 2028 to fill the remainder of a term, vote 3-0.
According to materials in the meeting packet, staff recommended updating the town's OnBoard directory to add a third alternate seat on the Shellfish Commission and to realign several vacant and expired terms so that commission rosters match the staggered-term schedule established by ordinance. The board's votes were recorded as unanimous where noted.
Next steps: staff were directed to revise the OnBoard directory and make the term corrections reflected in the meeting packet so commission seats follow the ordinance schedule.
