Lake City Council approves road closure for Western Days parade on June 28

Lake City Mayor Mike Schleisman called a special council session to order at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday and the council approved a road closure and traffic-control plan for the Western Days parade scheduled Saturday, June 28 at 11 a.m.
Councilmember Daniel moved to approve the street closure and parade traffic plan, and Councilmember Vogt seconded. The council discussed a proposed change in parade time and adjustments to the lineup location before the vote; the roll call recorded ayes from Daniel, Gorden and Vogt, and the motion carried. The parade will line up at the high school parking lot and proceed east to approximately Sparky’s, according to the item on the agenda.
With no further business, Councilmember Daniel moved to adjourn, Councilmember Gorden seconded, and the council voted to adjourn at 5:13 p.m. The next regular meeting is scheduled for Monday, July 7, 2025 at 5:00 p.m.
