Lake City council adopts multiple resolutions, approves 2023 audit and budget transfers

The Lake City City Council met July 21 and adopted several resolutions, approved the city’s 2023 audit and authorized transfers from the emergency fund.
At the meeting the council adopted RESOLUTION #2025-28, taking additional action on a proposed Water Revenue Loan and Disbursement Agreement. The motion (Vogt, second Wilson) carried on a roll-call vote recorded as Ayes — Bruns, Wilson, Gorden, Vogt and Mayor Pro Tem Jessica Daniel; Nays—none.
The council also approved the 2023 audit as presented by the auditors (motion by Bruns, second by Wilson; All Ayes) and passed an amended RESOLUTION #2025-29 to authorize a transfer of funds that included the emergency fund (motion by Wilson, second by Vogt; roll call Ayes — Bruns, Wilson, Vogt, Daniel, Gorden).
Other formal actions included approval of a Pottroff building permit (motion by Bruns, second by Wilson; All Ayes), adoption of RESOLUTION #2025-29 authorizing destruction of certain city records (motion by Bruns, second by Gorden; roll call Ayes — Vogt, Gorden, Wilson, Bruns, Daniel), and approval of RESOLUTION #2025-27 granting the Kent tax abatement (motion by Wilson, second by Gorden; roll call Ayes — Vogt, Gorden, Wilson, Bruns, Daniel).
The meeting also recorded a motion to terminate the city’s contract with Service Line Warranties of America (motion by Gorden, second by Bruns; All Ayes). The consent agenda — including July 17 meeting minutes, a Country Club liquor license renewal and the summary list of claims — was approved on a motion by Wilson, second by Bruns (All Ayes).
The council scheduled no additional votes on franchise fees, deciding to wait for updated financial information before making a decision. With no further business the council adjourned at 7:28 p.m.; the next regular meeting is Monday, August 4 at 6:00 p.m.
