Staff said the work is budgeted in the city's capital plan and that the city periodically re‑bids this work; the council approved the staff recommendation by voice vote.
On the airport runway lighting project, staff presented a grant agreement with the Department of Aeronautics to fund design and bid administration for runway lighting construction. Staff said the state would cover the majority of construction costs and that the city’s share for the design/bid phase is budgeted at $9,200 while the state’s portion is about $82,000. Because of anticipated higher construction costs, staff said the project will likely be split into two phases; the Department of Aeronautics has agreed to allow that approach and staff recommended moving forward with design and bidding. The council approved entering the agreement by voice vote.
Staff also noted an annual insurance liability waiver that requires acknowledgement rather than council action. The meeting ended with housekeeping items and a reminder about an upcoming meeting tied to truth‑in‑taxation matters.
