Council delays award of Holiday Street sewer contract until owners sign easement

Staff said they were reluctant to recommend awarding the contract until a signed easement from the Winters property is in hand; the bid bond for the apparent low bidder expires June 4, 2024.
Council members discussed timing and agreed that a short special meeting could be scheduled to award the project as soon as the easement is returned. A motion to hold a special meeting on April 15 at 4:30 p.m. to consider a resolution awarding the project to Chambers passed unanimously. Staff said final award recommendations will include confirmation that the contractor can meet schedule and permit requirements and that the easement is signed prior to an award.
