Granite Falls City Council handled several routine items during the meeting, approving a small contract amendment, granting a short-term park permit and completing required election housekeeping.
Custodial contract: Council approved an amendment to the existing custodial contract to add an extra weekly cleaning for the arrival/departure building during May–September for an additional cost (staff estimated roughly $500 annually). A council member moved and the council approved the amendment by voice vote.
Library story walk: Council approved a temporary permit request to place small story-walk signs along the Rice Park sidewalk from October 8–22; staff said the signs are temporary and the request had been grant-funded. Council approved the use permit by voice vote.
Designated polling places: As required by state rules, the council adopted a resolution designating city hall and the KCC as polling locations for local elections; this was treated as routine housekeeping and approved by voice vote.
Utility commission: Council received an informational update from the utility commission; no action was required.
These items passed with voice votes and staff will implement the approved changes and permits.
