The Iowa Falls Board of Education approved procedural and policy updates on June 10, including changes to the district’s employee travel reimbursement limits and scheduling for a follow-up IASB work session.
By unanimous vote (4-0) the board approved the first and second readings of board policy 401.07 (Employee Travel Compensation). The update increases daily limits for meals and hotel reimbursements to reflect more current costs; the motion was made by Hoversten and seconded by Robison.
The board reviewed capital projects and fund projections and Dr. Neumann discussed scheduling a follow-up work session with the Iowa Association of School Boards (IASB). The board set its July meeting for Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at 12:00 p.m., with the IASB work session to follow at approximately 1:00 p.m.
District discussion also included a staff-level decision on replacing middle-school iPad cases: because the total cost was expected to be below the board approval threshold, Dr. Neumann will approve the final number of cases to be replaced without a separate board vote. The meeting concluded after principal reports and a motion to adjourn at 2:29 p.m.
The policy readings and scheduling items passed unanimously and will move forward to implementation by district staff and administration.
