Ireton schedules Jan. 5 budget workshop; council places payloader on list, approves pool repairs funding

At its Dec. 15 meeting the Ireton City Council set a budget workshop for Jan. 5 to work through fiscal year 2026–27 budget items. Council member Ten Napel moved and Council member Mueller seconded a motion to put price quotes for a new payloader on the budget workshop list and to establish a Sourcewell account so the city can access government pricing; the motion passed 4-0.
Council member Ten Napel moved, with Mueller seconding, to maintain the Mid-Sioux donation at $500; that motion passed 4-0. The clerk reported a pool certificate of deposit maturing Dec. 24 and asked the council to withdraw $9,900 when renewing the CD to pay for a pool heater and replacement solar tarps. Council member Mueller moved and Council member Gradert seconded approval of the withdrawal and use of those funds for pool repairs; the motion passed 4-0.
The council concluded business by adjourning; the minutes record a final adjournment motion by Gradert seconded by Ten Napel that passed 4-0. Recorded motions direct staff to include the payloader quotes on the Jan. 5 budget workshop agenda and to record the pool repair funding transaction when the CD is renewed.
