Ireton council approves consent agenda, renews two liquor licenses

Mayor Hoogland opened the Ireton City Council meeting on Dec. 15, 2025. The council approved a consent motion moved by Council member Mueller and seconded by Council member Eisma to accept the police log, the November meeting minutes, the treasurer’s report, the claims report and the liquor-license renewals for Trattoria Buon Gusto and The 29th Amendment; the motion passed 4-0.
The claims report listed $59,552.71 in expenditures for December 2025, including loan interest to Iowa State Bank of $14,800.13, a $4,465.38 charge from O.C. Sanitation, $3,329.46 to Ferguson Waterworks and a $1,100 charge for lawn care. Council and staff also presented revenue figures for the month: total receipts across funds were $63,911.02, with Local Option Sales Tax receipts of $21,748.10 and Water Fund receipts of $9,504.09.
The council’s action cleared routine business so members could proceed to budget planning and other agenda items. The meeting record shows the consent motion was entered and recorded as passing by a 4-0 vote.
