Sewer repairs, catch basins and street easement estimates add to heavy year of town spending

An initial full-replacement estimate for the Holiday Street section was discussed at about $180,000 if fully dug and replaced; one completed section was cited as costing about $38,000. Seal coating was earlier referenced at roughly $91,000. Participants noted catch basins near the post office need replacement and that locating and sizing these elements will inform bids.
Budget pressure is increased by equipment already committed this year: participants said the town paid half the generator cost and indicated roughly $23,000 remained on that purchase, confirmed that a new truck and an on-order snowblower are part of this year’s spending, and noted the town’s general fund balance was cited at about $520,000. Several attendees urged postponing nonessential projects (garage expansion and shop work) so drinking‑water and sewer priorities can be funded.
At the end of the session one participant moved to adjourn; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
