A local landlord told the Good Thunder City Council on Monday that he has not received written rental inspection results following on-site inspections done in May and June and that repeated calls and messages to the inspector went unanswered.
The commenter said the June 19 inspection included properties on Bank and Sherman streets and that the landlord needs the written reports to address an ongoing tenant problem. "I still haven't received anything back from them and calls have been placed, messages left," the resident said during public comment.
Council members and staff responded that the city would follow up. A councilmember offered to call the inspector and the city clerk said they would reach out on Wednesday to get the status and ensure inspection copies are delivered to property owners.
The exchange highlighted frustration among several local landlords who, according to the commenter, also have not received reports for multi-unit inspections. The council did not take formal action at the meeting but instructed staff to contact the inspector and report back at the next meeting.
The issue remains open pending the city's follow-up call and delivery of the inspection documents.
