Lamont council approves consent agenda, hears sheriff, fire and public works reports

The Lamont City Council approved its consent agenda on Nov. 10, accepting financial reports, vendor bills and payroll and hearing routine departmental updates.
The consent agenda included expenditures totaling $27,207.01 across city funds and receipts totaling $66,019.32 for October. Noted line items in the minutes included utility, library and payroll payments. The clerk’s record lists expenditures by fund: General $6,161.60; Road Use Tax $1,624.34; Trust & Agency $1,153.93; Local Option Sales Tax $1,398.24; Water $5,352.21; Sewer $5,807.85; Landfill $5,454.84; Storm Sewer $254.00.
Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office logged 23 hours for the month. Deputy Gallery reported calls for service described in the minutes as door knocking, parking, burglary (which the minutes say was actually a cleaning crew) and an intoxicated person.
Fire Chief John Cook reported the fire department had been on six medical calls and one accident call since the last meeting and that 13 residents participated in the Battery‑Up Program held Nov. 1.
There was no BCEDC report. Streets & Sidewalks had no formal report, but a councilmember relayed a complaint about residents burning leaves in the street; Public Works will follow up. The Public Works Director reported that water mains had been flushed, the lift station cleaned, pumps serviced, five trees removed and that crews would fill resulting holes with dirt.
The council took no additional action on the reports beyond accepting them as part of the consent agenda.
