Lamont council raises city attorney pay, approves liquor license and limits recycling carts

The Lamont City Council unanimously approved an increase in the city attorney’s hourly rate and took three other unanimous actions during its meeting on Nov. 10.
Council approved an amendment to the city attorney compensation, setting the hourly rate at $150 effective Jan. 1, 2022. The motion was made by Councilmember Devlin and seconded by Councilmember Lamphier; the ayes were recorded as Burington, McTaggart, Behrens, Lamphier and Devlin. The council adopted the measure as Resolution 21‑27.
Also during the meeting, the council approved a liquor and wine license application for McDermott Oil dba Quick & Handi III. The motion, made by Councilmember McTaggart and seconded by Lamphier, approved a Class C Beer permit (carryout), a Class B Native Wine permit and a Class E Liquor license (LE) with Sunday sales. The vote was recorded as unanimous.
Separately, the council voted to limit households to a maximum of two recycling carts. The motion by McTaggart, seconded by Lamphier, stipulates that households needing additional container capacity may request a dumpster through City Hall and pay additional fees set by Kluesner Sanitation.
The meeting ended with a motion to adjourn, which carried unanimously. The meeting was recorded as adjourning at 7:35 p.m.
