The Hamilton County Drainage Board on June 8 authorized staff to accept bids for the J.S. McCarty Phase 2 reconstruction project and set a bid date of July 13, 2026.
Surveyor Gary Duncan requested the Board accept bids at the July meeting. Vice President Christine Altman moved to accept bids for that date; Dillinger seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
During construction updates the Surveyor said the Hortonville Drain and the West Arcadia (Miller Arm of the Wilson Nagle Drain) projects will be canceled and that the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds previously budgeted for those projects will be moved to the J.S. McCarty Phase 2 project. The Surveyor said formal documents are in process to cancel the ARPA fund projects and reallocate the funds.
Next steps: staff will advertise bids for the July 13 Board meeting and complete formal ARPA cancellation/reallocation documentation for County records and approvals.
