Township committee approves contracts, ordinances and grant applications in routine session

The committee also authorized purchases and repairs including an emergency radiator replacement ($9,181.55) and repairs to stairways and walkways (emergency contract not to exceed $33,500), awarded work on the town hall generator automatic transfer switch ($28,000) and a 9/11 memorial contract not to exceed $53,000. A professional services agreement with Colliers Engineering for investigation at 1042-58 Salem Road (not to exceed $32,000) and a crosswalk striping contract with Lazio Construction LLC (not to exceed $52,639) were approved.
Administrative items included a five-year Ricoh USA Inc. copier lease not to exceed $3,828.52 per month (state contract 25COMG99562), authorization of interim solid-waste disposal rates for May, renewal of liquor licenses for 07/01/2026–06/30/2027 and approval of listed finances on the agenda. Several ordinances — including a handicap parking space at 2134 Van Buren Place and amendments to construction-code fees and parks-permit fees — were introduced for first reading by title and scheduled for 2nd and final reading at a subsequent meeting.
All motions presented on the agenda were approved by voice vote; no recorded roll-call tallies with named votes were provided in the transcript. The meeting also received department reports from fire, municipal court and the senior center, and accepted community communications such as a church block-party request and a walkathon request from the Nigerian Nurses Association of America.
