Several residents used the June 24 meeting to raise concerns about a jet‑fuel pipeline leak in nearby upper Mayfield and to publicize a July 8 meeting at the Crossing Church in Washington Crossing where the operator will present its plan.
"I just wanted to make a note that there's going to be a meeting on Wednesday, July 8th from Senokco," resident John Mack said, adding that he is concerned the leak "can infiltrate the aquifers that through which we in New Town get our drinking water" and noting the pipeline runs through New Town near public schools and local roads.
Later in the meeting resident Charles Foyer thanked Mack for raising the meeting and asked whether anyone from the township planned to attend to raise local testing and remediation questions with the pipeline operator. "Is there anyone from the township that's going to be able to go to this meeting and address these concerns with Synokco?" Foyer asked.
Resident Dennis Fischer, who has attended Upper Mayfield meetings on the leak, offered to continue attending and said he has shared information with the board. Fischer also thanked the board for its decision on opioid funds and urged oversight to ensure promised services are delivered.
Supervisors did not commit in the public record to a specific township representative attending the July 8 meeting; they encouraged interested residents to participate and said they would follow up on whether township staff could attend.
