Staff proposed a standard hold-harmless and equipment-responsibility agreement to govern requests to borrow city equipment for community events and partnerships.
Nevada said the draft agreement would document the equipment description, dates of use, liability acknowledgments and responsibility for repair or replacement if equipment is damaged or destroyed while on loan. "Rather than bringing each instance forward, this is a draft of a possible agreement that could be considered that would hold harmless for any liability," Nevada said.
Committee members noted that pavilion rentals already include hold-harmless language and suggested the parks board should review the proposed form. The committee directed staff to bring the draft agreement forward for consideration by the parks board and council.
