District staff presented a report on local control funding formula (LCFF) local indicators and the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) at the June 23 board meeting, and described the district’s strategic goals and student‑achievement outcomes.
Dr. Richter said the district is marking several local indicators as met for 2025‑26. He reported that, except for one misassignment that was addressed, teachers were appropriately credentialed and that students had 100% access to standards‑aligned curriculum materials. Using the California Healthy Kids survey, he said 83% of participating students in grades 5, 7, 9 and 11 "indicated that they feel safe at school and 68% indicated that they feel connected to their school," increases of 4 and 1 percentage points respectively from the prior year. On access to a broad course of study, Richter said the district reports full access consistent with Education Code requirements.
Superintendent Dr. Deator reviewed the board’s four strategic priorities for 2026‑27 — safety and wellness; fiscal health; awareness and partnership; and post‑graduate success — and the administration highlighted recent recognitions (PBIS platinum status for multiple elementaries, California Distinguished School and National Blue Ribbon honors) and performance indicators such as a 93% AP pass rate and a reported 99.5% graduation rate. Staff discussed continued priorities for personalized, data‑driven instruction and an updated dashboard upload planned ahead of the August 1 deadline.
What happens next: staff will upload local indicators to the California Department of Education dashboard in advance of the fall release and use the dashboard data to inform 2027‑28 LCAP development and school site data‑inquiry cycles.
