The Sigourney City Council unanimously approved the consent agenda during its Sept. 3 meeting, covering routine payments, staff training, event bookings and temporary street closures.
By motion of Council member Conrad, seconded by Council member Iosbaker, the council approved Council accounts payable totaling $20,160.98 and August library claims. The consent agenda also authorized City Clerk Ashley Fry to attend the IMFOA conference on Oct. 17 (registration $150 plus travel) and to take online classes through the Iowa State University Municipal Institute on Oct. 1โ3.
The council approved a Traffix Logix quote for $500 and accepted a booking contract for Tyler Richton and the High Bank Boys to perform on July 3, 2026, for $6,500. The City Clerk financial reports for July were filed. The council also adopted Resolution No. 2025-09-20 temporarily closing East Pleasant Valley Street for the Homecoming Parade and Resolution No. 2025-09-22 temporarily closing Jefferson Street for the pavilion dedication. The council set its next regular meeting for Sept. 16, 2025.
The consent agenda passed on a unanimous roll call (Ayes: Schultz, Clark, Conrad, McLaughlin, Iosbaker and Lentz). No separate public comment or debate on consent items was recorded in the minutes.
