The Kalona City Council opened its March 4 meeting by approving the agenda and the Feb. 18, 2026 minutes. The council then allowed a list of bills presented by staff; the bills and supporting fund transfers and deposits were recorded in the meeting packet.
On separate motions the council approved entering into financial advisory services with PFM (motion by Bender; second by G. Schmidt) and approved the American Red Cross Kalona Community Center Facility Use Agreement (motion by Beran; second by Bender). Both motions carried with all members voting yes.
The bills list included payments to utility and service vendors and internal transfers among funds; detailed line‑item payments were provided in the meeting materials. The council did not alter those bills at the meeting.
The financial advisory engagement authorizes staff to proceed with contracting PFM for advisory services; the Red Cross agreement allows the organization to use the Kalona Community Center in unforeseen events. The council did not attach additional conditions to either authorization and did not record separate roll‑call vote names for those motions beyond noting all voted in favor.
