The Simsbury Conservation Commission on March 17 voted to forward its draft report titled "CC #25‑25, 75 Great Pond Road IWWA/CC Report" to the Zoning Commission for consideration during the applicant’s zoning review. The motion to forward the report was made by Vice Chair Jason Levy, seconded by Commissioner Michael Luzietti, and passed 4‑0‑1 with Commissioner Joseph Campolieta recused from the matter.
The report includes recommended edits relating to the applicant’s pest management plan, adjustments to the scheduled mowing of an on‑site meadow, and consideration of a letter from abutting neighbors questioning whether a proposed five‑unit cluster is justified from an environmental disturbance perspective. Commissioners discussed those edits and made changes to the draft prior to forwarding it.
Separately, the Commission amended and approved the February 17, 2026 minutes (motion carried 5‑0), and the Designated Agent, Brittany MacGilpin, reported an approval under the Designated Agent process for Application CC #26‑01 (Ryan Hucker applicant; Dale Hucker owner) for an approximately 1,260‑square‑foot addition at 6 Banks Road. Commissioners discussed providing applicants with information on invasive species and pool chemical management as part of the Designated Agent approvals.
Next steps: the forwarded report will be considered by the Zoning Commission during the applicant’s zoning application process; Commissioner Campolieta’s recusal will be noted in the record.
